Welcome to AppReviewLens (“the Service”, “we”, “us”, “our”). AppReviewLens is a web-based SaaS platform that helps founders, product teams, and indie developers research app ideas by analysing publicly available App Store and Google Play reviews.

AppReviewLens is operated by Apps Foundry Labs Ltd, a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales (Company Number 16288141), with its registered office at Unit 7, 97 Western Road, Southall, England, UB2 5HN.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our website and service. By accessing or using AppReviewLens, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect the information you provide during registration, which may include:

• Your name (if provided via Google sign-in)
• Your email address
• Your authentication provider (Google or email/password)
• A unique user identifier generated by Firebase Authentication

2.2 Subscription and Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or bank details on our servers. Stripe may share with us:

• Your Stripe customer ID
• Subscription status and billing interval
• The last four digits of your payment method
• Transaction dates and amounts

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including:

• Search queries you submit (app names and keywords)
• Pages and features you access
• Timestamps and frequency of usage
• Browser type, operating system, and device information
• IP address
• Referral source

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

AppReviewLens analyses publicly available app metadata and user reviews from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. This data includes app names, descriptions, ratings, review text, reviewer usernames, and other information that is already publicly accessible. We do not collect private or non-public data from any app store.

The reviews and metadata we process belong to their respective platforms and original authors. We aggregate and analyse this data to generate insights for our users, but we do not claim ownership of the underlying review content.

We rely on trusted third-party service providers to operate the Service. These providers may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase Authentication – for user sign-in and account management. Firebase may process your email address, name, and authentication tokens. Firebase Privacy Policy

• Google Firebase Hosting – for hosting and serving the AppReviewLens website. Firebase Hosting may process server logs including IP addresses and request metadata. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Google Gemini API – for AI-powered analysis of app reviews, including theme extraction, sentiment analysis, and feature request detection. Review text (which is already publicly available) is sent to the Gemini API for processing. No personal user data is included in these requests. Google AI Terms

We only share the minimum data necessary for each provider to perform their function.

Your data is stored using Google Cloud Firestore, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication data is managed by Firebase Authentication with industry-standard security practices.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Specifically:

• Account data is retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
• Payment records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting regulations (typically 6 years in the UK).
• Usage logs (search queries, page visits) are retained for up to 12 months for analytics and service improvement, after which they are anonymised or deleted.
• Cached app review data is temporarily stored for performance purposes and is refreshed or purged periodically (typically within 24 hours).

If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:

• Right of access – You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification – You may request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure – You may request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.

Some of our third-party service providers (including Google and Stripe) may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, to protect your data in accordance with UK data protection law.

AppReviewLens is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that data promptly. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via email or a prominent notice within the Service.
